Information on Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse which is undertaken as a church-wide and community centered ministry of North Greenwood Baptist Church. Each Christmas, thousands of shoeboxes laden with gifts and supplies are delivered to North Greenwood Baptist Church.

National Collection Week is November 17-24, 2008. Please begin preparations for your shoeboxes now. Samaritan’s Purse would like to remind everyone that shoeboxes are accepted year-round. You can mail the shoeboxes to this address.

North Greenwood Baptist Church will begin a campaign around Christmas. You may feel free to bring your shoeboxes to us at any time after the campaign begins. Please check back often for updates to our campaign calendar.

Guidelines For Shoebox Packing

To each shoebox, you must affix a label. The label denotes whether the gift box is intended for a boy or girl and what age the items inside are intended for. The labels are required and can be picked up from the church offices or downloaded and printed here. Also, we find that instead of using a conventional shoebox, a plastic storage container works well. Of course, this is optional and at your discretion.

What To Know About Your Donations

Donations are accepted by Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child. Donations can be included inside the shoebox. Simply place a few extra dollars inside an envelope and place it inside your shoebox on the top of everything else inside. The donation is used to help Samaritan’s Purse cover the shipping cost of your gift.
