The earthquake that struck Haiti a few weeks previous is a current event in this world that one would be pressed to understand considering the geographical distance between us and the Haitian people. However, that does not mean that it didn’t happen. Nor does that mean that the Haitian people do not require help.

Mississippi Baptist are working to do what they can for the disaster-struck Haitians. The Mississippi Baptist, along with the Kentucky Baptists, have partnered with a ministry effort organized by the Florida Baptist Convention. The team of Mississippi Baptist, who’s members come from various locations throughout the state, have set up a medical camp and had seen over 1,100 patients as of February 18, 2010 (imb.com).

The ten member team of Baptist from Mississippi have treated many differing illnesses and ailments such as respiratory problems, broken bones, and more serious illnesses requiring a longer medical stay. The Baptist have also seen a wide success in Bible distribution and worship among the citizens of Haiti.
